Westside Head & Neck’s, Dr. Amanda Salvado, presented a talk titled “They Diagnosed Me Wrong” at the 2 day symposium, The Vocal Masterclass, which took place in March, 2014 at Pepperdine University. Attendees included actors, singers, students of voice, voice coaches, voice therapists and laryngologists. Dr. Salvado was one of several presenters, including other doctors, voice coaches, and professional voice users in the West Los Angeles area who spoke on wide range of subjects pertaining to voice health. The event sponsors included the Osborne Head & Neck Institute, SAG/AFTRA, the West Coast Chapter of The Recording Academy, and MusiCares.
Vocal Masterclass is an instructive and interactive course designed for the professional voice user. The only course of its kind, Vocal Masterclass will teach participants everything they need to know to maintain, fine tune and preserve their voice and vocal career. Experts in the field of voice medicine, rehabiltation, and coaching, as well as industry leaders in acting and music, will be conducting in-depth courses.
Attendees will observe a live voice examination with the latest in vocal imaging technology. During hands-on sessions, experts will work with voice artists and demonstrate immediate improvements in vocal quality. In small group sessions, there will be opportunities to learn in an interactive setting. The event will close with a networking reception, where attendees will be able to interact with course faculty and industry professionals directly.
